gathering? Looking for nature? Look no further! The Riverside is located on a beautiful portion of the river ... a quite channel which encircles an island with much wildlife (eagles, osprey, cranes, etc). Two canoes are available for canoeing around the island or traveling the river down to Point Bluff on Rt. 82 (approx 7 miles). In fact, for the more experienced, you could canoe all the way down to the Wisconsin Dells. If you will be bringing a boat, there are two alternatives. You may put in to the Wisconsin River at the dam below Castle Rock Lake (just 3 minutes north on Z) ... or you may choose to put in on Castle Rock Lake at the public launch near Edgewater Marine/ Snug Harbor (approx 6 minutes north). The Riverside has 7 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room with fireplace, another family room and dining overlooking the Wisconsin River. The large screened-in porch also overlooks the river, with additional seating and eating arrangements. These are great accommodations for a larger group, with the common areas (kitchen, dining) separating the 2 sleeping areas, each with their own bath. Three bedrooms are on the main level and 4 bedrooms on the next level. There is plenty of land to enjoy your vacation in privacy ... campfire pit, the wooded pines extending the sides, the shore area down the slope. Drive a few minutes to the public launch on the main flow of the Wisconsin ... or just up the road to Castle Rock Lake (with 14,000 acres, the 4th largest lake in WI). Only 5 minutes to the Castle Rock County Park, with beach, playground and launch. Or take in the Wisconsin Dells experience just 20 minutes south. |
